Police Children’s Fund recently met with Andy Standing and Marianne Dunkling of Sussex Police Federation for an informal chat at their offices on the south coast. What a positive and productive meeting it was!
The Fund’s trustees aspire to help as many police children as possible and this requires raising awareness of the Fund’s work within our contributing forces. We need to ensure ongoing support to continue our good work, so it was reassuring to hear that Andy and Marianne are always “shouting about the Fund” and identifying opportunities to promote our charitable services across Sussex.
We came away from the meeting with opportunities for us to be seen out and about in the police community through attendance at new recruits attestation days, a police station tour with other partners around Sussex and a variety of potential fundraising opportunities.
In the hope that our increased visibility will encourage officers to sign up to regularly donate through their salary, the Fund can continue to support the children of deceased and medically retired officers from the federated ranks across Sussex.
A big ‘thank you’ to Sussex Police Federation. Look what can be achieved over a cup of coffee!
We look forward to similar experiences with our other contributing forces.
