Summer Fun & Fundraising

Would you like to help Police Children’s Fund support more young people in 2024?

Police Children’s Fund is a grant-giving charity providing financial assistance to support the education, development and well-being of the children of deceased or medically retired police officers from our 22 contributing forces across England and Wales.

We’re focusing on the warmer months ahead and Spring and Summer may be the perfect time for having fun and undertaking a fundraising activity with friends and family.

Here are some ideas for you:

  • Community Fun Run/Walk: Organise an event in your local community. Participants can collect donations. Make it a themed event to attract more participants.
  • Car Wash: Host a car wash event or knock on neighbourhood doors.  Charge a fee and encourage voluntary donations too. You can offer interior car cleaning or waxing for an extra charge.
  • Bake Off competition & sale: Gather friends and family to bake up a storm. Set up a stall outside your home, school, park, local market or at a community event.
  • Sports Tournament: Organise an event. Participants can pay an entry fee and spectators can contribute through donations or purchasing drinks and snacks. Involve local businesses as sponsors to help cover costs and increase fundraising potential.
  • Themed Party or Dinner: Host an event and charge a fee. Include entertainment, a raffle, DJ spots, special requests or an auction to raise extra funds.
  • Online Fundraising Campaign: Utilise crowdfunding websites or social media to launch a campaign. Share our mission and impact, encouraging followers, friends and family to donate. Set up fundraising challenges to incentivise others.
  • Corporate Sponsorship: Reach out to your employer or local businesses to pitch the idea of corporate sponsorship for your fundraising efforts. Offer promotional opportunities such as logo placement on event materials or acknowledgment in press releases in exchange for financial support.

Remember to promote your fundraising events and activities through social media, local newspapers, schools, colleges and community groups (on and offline) to maximise participation and donations.

Good luck with your fundraising efforts for the Police Children’s Fund!
