The lovely proud mum of two of our Devon & Cornwall beneficiaries has expressed her thanks to Police Children’s Fund for the help given to her two boys.
I would like to thank Police Children’s Fund for the support they have given to my family.
My husband passed away age 37 from bowel cancer, he was a serving police officer at the time and our boys were aged 7 and 11.
Whilst he was in the police, the support my husband received was outstanding and after his death, the police continued to support our family, helping us give him the funeral he deserved with police escorts and police flag for his coffin.
Police Children’s Fund has enabled my boys to develop new skills through funding extracurricular educational activities which I would have struggled to maintain without their help.
One of my sons has taken up drum lessons and passed exams for this, providing an outlet for him in difficult times. I was also able to pay for my other son to continue guitar lessons; he used to play guitar with his dad.
I do believe without the help I would not have been able to prioritise these things which have contributed to my boys’ achievements and wellbeing.
We are very grateful to Police Children’s Fund for the support offered.
