Police children’s Fund has been supporting a Devon & Cornwall beneficiary since 2019 and Nerine has gone from strength to strength in her sporting pursuits, especially netball, and recently won players player of the year for the under 14’s.
Nerine’s mum told us “Nerine represented Cornwall today and played for their A team against lots of other counties. 10 games back to back! 3 league games yesterday (they won 16 games out of 16 so won the Cornish league). She has further trials next week for the County.
Thank you for your help, as without you, none of this would be possible. I’m retired through ill health and wouldn’t be able to afford to support her at this level without you. Thanks for all you do.”
The trustees recently awarded Nerine a grant for a school ski trip and Nerine has shared a few words about her experience.
“I am Nerine and I am 13 years old. I am writing to tell you that I had the most fantastic time on my school trip. I have never experienced anything like this before. I was really good at skiing, but I did fall over a lot. The views were not like anything I had ever seen before.
The coach took 33 hours to get to the French Alps but it was really worth it. I loved every second of it and I didn’t want it to end. We went into the local town, we even ended up skiing in Italy as it was that close.
I loved all of the activities and I had such a great time. I made lots of memories with my friends. Thank you so much for giving me this opportunity.”
Nerine doesn’t stand still and in a recent update her mum tells us that her team have qualified for the regional league so Nerine is now representing Cornwall under 14’s.
Congratulations to Nerine from everyone at Police Children’s Fund.
