Sherral’s Summer Update

Hi everyone and welcome to the second of my quarterly updates. I hope you’re having an enjoyable summer.

I find myself reflecting on a career with the charity which has just passed 15 years. It’s fair to say I’ve witnessed many positive changes and met wonderful and committed trustees along the way. It’s a privilege to manage this incredible charity and to have guided it through the name change and re-brand.

Here at Police Children’s Fund we continue to provide police children with financial support and stability throughout their educational and developmental years. As always, we thank our wonderful donors and fundraisers who make such a difference.

Earlier this month we held our quarterly trustees’ meeting where just under £5k was awarded in educational grants.

The Fund is honoured to be one of two nominated charities supported by Sussex Police Volleyball who are hosting the Police Sport UK Volleyball championships. I will be representing the Fund at their presentation evening at the end of August and it should be a fun night.

We are entering new territory and excited to have signed up as a charity partner for the London Landmarks Half Marathon in 2025. Keep an eye on our website for more details.

The end of summer is fast approaching so I’ll sign off by sending our best wishes to everyone starting or returning to school, college and university. To those now leaving education we wish you every success for the future. We are delighted to have supported some of you along your journey.
