Corporate Charity Partnership

What is it?

A charity partnership is a collaborative relationship between a business and a charity who share a passion and commitment to social change. Corporate fundraising as a joint endeavour can take many forms including:

  • Strategic partnerships & event sponsorship
  • Staff fundraising & matched giving
  • Charity of the Year
  • Licensing & product endorsement Many more

Why do it?

When there is a shared vision and shared values, the benefits for both the charity and the business are bountiful, allowing both parties to explore opportunities beyond monetary value.

Benefits to the Company

Research has shown that businesses displaying a more human approach, through affiliation with a worthwhile cause, can experience an increase in employee engagement, boosting morale, which inevitably leads to improved workplace retention.

Customers, clients, companies and the wider public are drawn to a philanthropic business which shows a genuine commitment to social responsibility and community focus which creates positive brand association, increased networking opportunities and skills development.

Benefits to the Charity

Raising awareness of a cause through corporate partnerships can support access to new funding sources, improve volunteer recruitment and enhance skills through securing professional expertise.

How does it work?

Research and preparation are key to securing a successful partnership for a charity and the many considerations include:

  • Identifying potential, reputable, financially sound companies with shared values
  • Planning the marketing and communication of the partnership
  • Writing a policy setting out how the charity will work with partners
  • Carrying out a risk assessment to identify potential conflicts of interest
  • Observing legal implications
  • Having a written agreement in place detailing the mutual participating duties, obligations, benefits and rights
  • Measuring the impact of the partnership

Police Children’s Fund & Partnerships

Here at Police Children’s Fund we are aware that the non-profit sector has experienced a shift in the landscape of fundraising in recent years with both donors and charitable organisations being affected by the current financial pressures.

The Fund has experienced a drop in the number of police officers regularly donating through payroll giving and whilst the generosity of our donors and supporters is unwavering, we are now considering the benefits of corporate fundraising through partnerships.

Our current corporate supporter is Uniform Mortgages who very kindly donate an agreed sum for every recommendation which leads to a transacted mortgage and we are hoping to attract more partners in the near future to ensure we can fulfil our mission.
