Did You Know…

…that Police Children’s Fund can support the eligible children of a Special Constable who has sadly died on duty?

A Special Constable is a warranted, uniformed volunteer police officer with full police powers.  As of 30 September 2024, there are just under 6k Special Constables volunteering their services across England and Wales.

Many of us don’t realise that Special Constables experience the same challenges faced by full-time paid police officers; they are involved in frontline policing and specialist roles including cybercrime, roads policing, rural policing and public order duties.

We can offer grants to support the education, development and wellbeing of the children of a Special Constable who has died on duty and who served with one of our contributing forces.

Please get in touch to find out more about how we can help.

We would also like to take this opportunity to mention one of our fellow members of Police Charities UK; the Association of Special Constabulary Officers (ASCO) are the first national charity to represent and celebrate the contribution made by Special Constables across the UK each year and more information can be found on their website.

We welcome the opportunity to help where we can so please spread the word.
