Thanks on Father’s Day

On Father’s Day we wanted to hear from a lovely dad with his thoughts about Police Children’s Fund and how we have supported his family.

The father of one of our Leicestershire beneficiaries contacted us and shared the following:

“I first learned of the Police Children’s Fund a few years after my retirement.  Since then, it has been of invaluable assistance in our daughter Finn’s development as she suffers with social anxiety.

“Finn has turned out to be very sportive with abilities in road cycling and golf.  Without the support from the Fund, we would never have managed to support her to the levels she has reached.  Her golf in particular has seen her reach elite junior level representing her county at several competitions all before the age of 11”.

Finn’s dad went on to tell us “Finn’s prowess has necessitated an inevitable upgrade in clubs which the Fund has supported and this has enabled her to be fitted at the Ping European Centre.  Her growth rate has seen her outgrow bikes at a yearly rate and her ability has meant upgrades in components and again, the support from Police Children’s Fund has helped towards the costs.”

Our sporty beneficiary participates in many other activities including martial arts and proud dad shared that Finn has also achieved the level of 3rd Kup which leaves her with two more gradings to achieve before her black belt 1st Dan.

“Her education is on target with the move to senior school of her choice in the autumn meaning more expenditure on things like a computer which she will need on top of the usual uniform” dad explained.

“We can’t thank Police Children’s Fund enough for the support that has helped turn Finn into the star she has become.”
