The second formal meeting of Police Charities UK (PCUK) took place earlier this week and we met with the other member charities to discuss how best to work together to strengthen the support offered to our community.
Collaboration and teamwork are imperative for smaller charities who are looking to create a sustainable long-term future in delivering their mission. Working together can help us achieve our collective goals whilst sharing knowledge, best practice, resources and skills.
We were hoping to be joined by the Minister of State for Policing and Crime, Sarah Jones, however, her ministerial duties prevented her from attending. There was discussion around government funding for the police charities and PCUK will endeavour to present relevant information to the policing minister. It is hoped that presenting unified data, reflecting the collective spend and support offered, will highlight the massive impact of the charitable work supporting our police families.
A big ‘thank you’ to the Chair, Dave Blundell of Police Care UK and to The Police Treatment centres for hosting the meeting.
We remain proud to be part of PCUK and we will keep you updated on any future collaborative projects to support police families.
